FORREST FLEMING, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND BOARD MEMBER – has a distinguished track record of creating successful start-up companies across a diverse industry portfolio, specializing in creating, funding, and executing business plans to optimally commercialize world-changing inventions. He served in senior sales and marketing positions for several successful startups, including Parametric Technology (professional engineering software), Celera Genomics (drug discovery), and Cinesite, a division of Kodak (digital imaging services). Most recently, Mr. Fleming was CEO of ScentAir Technologies, a pioneer in creating scent-marketing solutions for retail environments and consumer brand promotions. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo, California.
BURTON TRIPATHI, PhD, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer – has over 15 years of experience developing and marketing innovative medical device technology. As senior manager for the Lap-Band® business at Allergan (previously Inamed), Dr. Tripathi managed an $8 million direct-to-consumer advertising campaign. Prior to that he was the product manager for robotic surgical systems at Computer Motion, Inc. (now Intuitive Surgical), where he determined market opportunities, established product pricing, delivered sales training presentations, created ROI models, and identified additional revenue potential for current products. Previously, Dr. Tripathi worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. where he focused on high-tech, life sciences, and corporate finance work, including assignments with medical device, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Tripathi received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
J. MARK MAIRE, JR, VP OF WORLD WIDE SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – has more than 20 years of sales and sales management experience including 12 years of senior leadership experience in the medical device industry. Maire served seven years as managing director at James Clayton Consulting, Inc., a professional services group focused on the acute and ambulatory healthcare marketplace. Prior to leading James Clayton, Maire was an award winning sales executive with Johnson & Johnson and Chiron Vision having developed new markets and revitalized underperforming territories through superior customer service and medical know-how. Mark joined TrueVision in 2008 as eastern region director of sales and was instrumental in developing product direction and sales strategy. Maire was promoted to vice president in 2011. Maire has established strong relationships and an excellent reputation with leading neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT and spine surgeons and led his region to top sales performances. Mark earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1991.
ROBERT REALI, VP OF MARKETING AND OPERATIONS – is an experienced and technology savvy executive in the areas of operations, sales and marketing. At TrueVision, Mr. Reali collaborates with global partners such as Weigao, LENSAR and Leica Microsystems to successfully license and launch products in various markets around the world. Prior to TrueVision, Reali was a Business Development and Marketing Executive for Advanced Propulsion Technologies (now Eco-Motors Intl), a company that successfully developed a high density diesel engine. Prior to Advanced Propulsion, Mr. Reali co-founded and acted as COO at ExperTelligence, now a Microsoft company, developing and licensing the company's software to industry giants SONY, Apple, and Texas Instruments to name a few. Mr. Reali specializes in implementing sales and marketing programs for new products. He is experienced in product management, intellectual property protection, and investor relations and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
David W. Friess, OD, FAAO, Director of Clinical Affairs – has more than 12 years of experience in the surgical device field, including experience as a sub-investigator on numerous phase III clinical trials that led to FDA PMA approvals. In 2008, Friess joined TrueVision in a consultative role, participating in the successful 510(k) clinical regulatory process to bring the now patented TrueGuide ophthalmic guidance software to market. Dr. Friess previously served as Senior Clinical Research Scientist for Alcon Laboratories, Inc., managing internal R&D clinical studies, Phase IV clinical research trials and competitive intelligence in corneal refractive surgery. Dr. Friess' extensive research has been published in several medical journals. Dr. Friess received his doctorate degree with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and a B.S. in biology from the University of South Dakota.
Aimee Sanchez, Director of Finance – Aimee has 13 years of experience in the medical device field. An employee of TrueVision for more than seven years, Aimee leads the accounting team, and manages investor relations; most notably helping to raise and manage over $20 million in debt and equity financing. In partnership with the company's corporate law firm, Aimee is committed to corporate compliance and acts as corporate secretary for the Board of Directors. Aimee is actively working on financing opportunities to support the company's growth.
MICHAEL WEISSMAN, FOUNDER AND CHIEF SCIENTIST – is a technical visionary with over 40 years of research and development experience. As one of the world's leading stereoscopic experts, Dr. Weissman is guiding the company's advanced development projects. He has been developing 3D stereoscopic video systems for 25 years, and his 3D systems have traveled two miles under the sea and into radioactive waste sites. Prior to founding TrueVision, Dr. Weissman was a member of the engineering team at Karl Storz Imaging that developed that company's 3D endoscope. He has also helped develop head-mounted displays, 3D tracking systems, and stereoscopic software. In the 1980s he founded Microscience, Inc., one of the first companies to develop 2D and 3D video analysis on personal computers. Dr. Weissman is a member of the program committee for the Stereoscopic Applications Conference of the SPIE. He earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins and his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago and performed post-doctoral research at Imperial College, London.
DAVID ADORNETTO, CHIEF FINANCIAL ADVISOR – has a distinguished career of transforming small companies into robust financially capable organizations capable of sustained and often logarithmic growth. Joining TrueVision in late 2014, Mr. Adornetto is responsible for all company financial matters including reporting, planning, treasury and risk management. Prior to joining TVS, Mr. Adornetto was CFO for InTouch Health where he developed a balanced cash preservation strategy and ensured sufficient cash reserves resulting in 60% revenue CAGR, from $2M to $27M. Adornetto also led efforts of two private equity financing rounds, providing $20M of working capital funding. Prior to his positive change at InTouch, Adornetto, was executive vice president of operations and VP of finance at Johnson & Johnson's Mentor Corporation.
